My Top 10 Favorite Korean Music Artists

1. Big Bang

Like seriously, who DOESN'T like  Big Bang? Part pop, part rap, and 100% unique and crazy (in a good way). They are a very versatile music group and it comes out in variety of big hits they've had from Lies to Bang Bang Bang to Bae Bae. 

2. 2NE1

They were the ultimate unique girl Kpop group. They were edgy, ambitious and it showed in their music. I can't think of a female kpop group that took as many musical and MV risks (not in a sexual, flirty way) and had them pay off. 

3. Zia (지아)

I like to consider her the new queen of Ballads. Lee Sun-Hee will forever be THE QUEEN, but Zia is the Queen-in-Waiting? Anyway her songs are soul crushing because they are so sorrowful you can't help but have the feels. I fell in love with Ballads with her first popular song from her first single. You can't help but enjoy hearing her sing. 

4. SeeYa

More ballads? You bet! Love's Greeting is my favorite song by them, although I think the translated title should be Love's Goodbye. Technically the term used means greeting, but it can at times be used as a goodbye. Anyway, they were a 3 person ballad group that had a bit more pop feel to them rather than traditional ballad groups. 

5. Twice

The hottest Kpop group around today. They keep coming out with hit after hit, and the best part is,  the songs are cute Kpop that was mainstream in the 2000s rather than the sexual sexy kpop that dominates Korea today. But come on, do I need to go more into the 1 in a Million, Twice?!

6.리쌍

Long time rapper duo! They have such a unique rhythm, especially Gary (not how it's spelled in Korean but... similar enough just to call him Gary in english). They've been around for a long time but their rap is soothing. Not hardcore, there are other rappers for that.

7. Jessi

She's Gucci! The Korean American rapper who doesn't give a damn! Like for real and that is what makes her so likable. She is so real and it's refreshing for the Kpop world where there is so much fakeness. Check her out cause she's unlike anyone in the Korean music scene. 

8. Girl’s Day

Typical Kpop group but so loveable. They have a variety of songs that span different genres. You got your typical sexy kpop songs, ballads, dance songs, and others in-between. They are a great group to listen to, especially for the variety of songs. 

9. Girls Generation

What can be said about Girls Generation? They were the premier idol group in the 2000s and still going strong today. Not really any reason to add anymore to this haha. 

10. Fly to the Sky

The ultimate ballad male duo! My Angel is a personal favorite. They have been around forever... and I mean forever. Their voices really compliment each other, Hwanhee with his lower pitch and Brian with his higher pitch. It works out and creates some awesome melodies. They are great for ballad!
